Highly-anticipated video game "Quantum Break" has been making waves ever since it was revealed. Now that the release of the game is almost here, a pre-release version of the time-bending game was released to the public.
Digital Foundry has analyze the video quality of the pre-released version of "Quantum Break" and, according to what Digital Foundry has found, "Quantum Break" is still visually stunning despite it played in 720p. The game developers of "Quantum Break," Remedy, published that some aspects and parts of "Quantum Break" will only run at 1920x1080 or 1080p but Digital Foundry said that it has "yet to see evidence of full HD 1080p gameplay."
"In every scene tested so far, a native resolution of 720p is the consistent result found in each pixel count test," Digital Foundry reported. "So while there's every possibility of individual render targets operating at higher resolutions, basic geometry that we're able to measure hands in a 720p result as things stand."
Digital Foundry claimed that "Quantum Break" even played in 720p is still impressive and stunning. According to them, this amount of visual amazingness in low resolution is through Remedy's use of post-effect on "Quantum Break" including film grain, motion blur and anti-aliasing.
"Added to this, image quality appears sharper and noticeably cleaner in more static scenes, where a pixel count suggests something closer to a 900p presentation," Digital Foundry further added. "A temporal reconstruction anti-aliasing solution is a strong contender--a technique where information from previously rendered frames is blended with the current one."
Remedy, on the other hand, has not answered the claim of Digital Foundry about the "Quantum Break" being played in 720p since it is still a pre-released form of "Quantum Break". There is still a large possibility that "Quantum Break" upon its official release will be higher than 720p or 1080p. "Quantum Break," which also includes a TV show, launches on April 5 across Xbox One and PC.
