On the other hand, snacking on the wrong foods loads the body with sugars and higher levels of fat.
Some snacks claim to be good for the waistline but are they really? Experts suggest that instead of eating strawberry yogurt, go for plain Greek yogurt and simply add fresh strawberry slices to it. Instead of consuming ½ cup of trail mix with chocolate pieces, opt for a simple fruit and nut bar. Instead of downing an ounce of pretzels, experts suggest that it is much better to consume an ounce of salted, shelled pistachios.
Researchers also said ¼ cups of soy nuts are also not recommended. Rather, go for ½ cup of shelled and steamed edamame. Substitute a can of diet soda with 12 ounces of sweetened sparkling water with fruit slices. A cup of air-popped popcorn was also found to be much better than two pieces of rice cakes. Likely, a 16-ounce bottled smoothie should be substituted to homemade smoothies. Experts also suggest that people just consume fresh banana fruit rather than sweetened banana chips.
Although tempting, ditch a grande of two percent pumpkin spice latte and substitute it with a serving of grande non-fat latte. Consume an ounce of dark chocolate instead of gulping down an entire cup of chocolate pudding. Add more benefits to a handful of baby carrots by adding two tablespoons of hummus. Make four dried plums a priority instead of the usual ½ cup of canned pears. Ditch one serving of cheese crackers that has 27 pieces and go for a half turkey sandwich with avocado. Choose one packet of instant oats over ½ cup granola with one-cup skim milk and consume 1/3 cup of roasted pumpkin seed instead of a 100-calorie pack of cookies.
