‘Chucky 7’ Release Date, News & Update: Franchise Director Don Mancini Teases ‘Chucky’ Sequel’s Premiere Date On Twitter; Upcoming Bloody Comeback To Happen In 2017?

Good news, Chucky fans! "Chucky 7," the upcoming movie sequel of the demonic doll whose murderous practices began in 1988, is reportedly underway after three years in silence.

"Child's Play" filmmaker Don Mancini recently rocked Twitterverse after he dropped some clues that "Chucky 7" will be haunting cinemas in 2017. In his Twitter post, he shared a picture of Chucky with an accompanying caption saying, "Next year?"

After Mancini's tweet, avid "Chucky 7" fans were quick to respond and retweet the post. One follower even commented that the upcoming sequel will be "history." Aside from Mancini's Twitter post, fans also made an interesting discussion on the "Chucky 7's" IMDb message board, where they tackled and speculated answers on the question - how Chucky could find Andy?

"Andy and his mom could visit Nica in the mental hospital after the Chucky encounter," one fan posted. "Maybe Andy found out about Nica during the 6 months in the news or something and he prepared for him to return. After whatever happens with that situation they could visit her and try to help her get out so they can all work together."

Meanwhile, the latest "Chucky 7" tweet was not the first time that Don Mancini teased diehard "Child's Play" fans. As a matter of fact, he had initially tweeted about Chucky's comeback last September, Latin Post noted.

In addition, Mancini has also dropped hints of the upcoming sequel "Chucky 7" two years ago after the cliffhanging finale of the franchise's sixth installment, "Curse of Chucky" in 2013. According to Jobs & Hire, the movie director hinted that all inquiries regarding Alice's fate will be "answered" in the seventh installment of the film.

Moreover, he also teased the possibility of digging deeper into the story of Chucky's children, Glen and Glenda, in "Chucky 7." And while the characters have just been a minority, Mancini admitted that he wanted to do something "surprising" about them.

"I wanted to do something surprising with it because I thought, people wouldn't expect the offspring of Chucky to be this pacifist, sweet-natured schizophrenic," Mancini said, as per Collider. "Maybe the schizophrenic part. But, anyway, I do have ideas for those character and I do think about them a lot."

Meanwhile, "Chucky 7" release date has not been confirmed yet. But based on Mancini's tweets, it's safe to say that the sequel might probably hit the cinemas in 2017.
