The food industry is now filled with exciting careers that people can try and enjoy. These jobs range from simple food photography to mixing cocktails.
NDTV Food said the past years have opened new doors for people specializing in food preparation, presentation and food management. Here are some of the top food industry careers you should try:
1. Food styling and photography
The same report noted that this type of job is now "in high demand" because of the trend in Instagram and Pinterest. It was also noted that great styling and photos contribute to the interest of customers to food items.
As food photographers and stylists, people will be tasked to produce photos of dishes or food items which will be posted online, printed in a magazine or newspaper and shown on television. NDTV Food says this focuses on the artistic ability of a food stylist to market food items to the hungry public.
2. Wine and Beverage Mixing
According to Cocktails, another exciting job in the industry is mixing drinks and bartending. Mixology, the report says, is the study of the craft or art of mixing drinks. Mixologists or bartenders and bar chefs are the people called to perform such tasks.
NDTV Food added that this is one of the most in-demand jobs in the food industry since it involves beverages. Their skills are much celebrated especially by those who love to drink beverage mixes.
3. Being a food historian
Inside Jobs said a food historian determines how certain foods have changed over the past years and how cultures and societies influence them. It noted that food historians can either teach at schools, do research or even write a book.
Food expert Rachel Laudan claimed that one does not need to have a formal historical training to be good at this job. She explained that the skills needed for the job can be easily learned.
