A clerk has been receiving love for the good deed she has done while working at a convenience store. She saved the baby the young mother was holding when she had a seizure. She was able to grab the baby seconds before the mother fell to the floor.
According to 9news, a surveillance video showed that the woman holding a baby began to have a seizure while she was at the counter. Fortunately, the store clerk grabbed the baby just in time before the mother fell to the floor. Rebecca Montano said she noticed something was out of the ordinary when she was approaching the counter.
Montano, who has 5 children and 9 grandkids recalled the moment she realized that something is about to happen. "I was talking to the baby and she—the girl—had a glazed look on her face," Montano said. "I wasn't sure, I felt uneasy about it. I was asking her 'is everything ok,' I grabbed the baby's arm and she started to sway, she wouldn't answer me. She was just lost in space, so I thought I better take the baby, something doesn't feel right. And then right there she started to fall and I wasn't sure still exactly what was going on, so I yelled at [a nearby] customer that was in the store [for help]. She fell, I came back, grabbed the phone called 911."
Although a lot of people disagree, Montano said she wasn't a hero. She explained that her instincts told her to do what she did. As a matter of fact, she felt bad for not being able to catch the young mom from falling to the ground, parenting.com reported.
"I think being a mother, being a grandmother, my first instinct was the baby," Montano said. "I just wanted to save the baby from getting hurt, if she would've fallen with the baby in her arms, who knows where that baby would've landed?"
