On Saturday night, live on Sky Sports, at the Sheffield Arena, Kell Brook returns to action again. He declared ready to defend his IBF welterweight title against Kevin Bizier.
According to Mirror, Kell Brook has been forced out of his October clash with Diego Chaves in 2015 as a result of the rib injury. Since then, Brook has been following an extended training camp. Now, Brook prepares to make the third defense of his title against Kevin Bizier, a mandatory challenger from Canada. The unbeaten 29-year-old Kell Brook is plotting a major summer showdown.
Last year, Brook also defended his title against Frankie Gavin. Now, he aims to send a statement out to the welterweight division by defeating 31-year-old Kevin Bizier in front of his home crowd.
According to Sky Sports, Brook declared that he is excited and impatient to fight. For him, it already feels like he has "been training for an eternity."
Kell Brook is clearly frustrated and angry for missing a blockbuster clash with Amir Khan this summer and being out of the ring for the last 10 months. Amir Khan preferred to fight Saul Alvarez and turned down a June clash with Brook at Wembley.
In the IBF welterweight title defense, he is finally able to take out his frustrations on Kevin Bizier when he will have a match against the Canadian on Saturday. The unbeaten Sheffield fighter plans to keep on track for a big summer fight but first he will ensure to shine against mandatory challenger Bizier.
According to Brook, since he also was a mandatory challenger once, he knows well much pressure that position brings. He expects that Bizier will give his best on Saturday and he is excited to fight again.
Brook added that he feels that a special performance is coming on and he will be quite emotional on Saturday since the fight is in the Sheffield Arena of his hometown.
