According to Co-Optimus, "Monster Hunter Generations" features a number of throwbacks in the previous "Monster Hunter" iterations. It includes old weapon styles, monsters, location and more. As the report notes, the new "Monster Hunter" series include playable palicos, four flagship monsters and gameplay tweaks. Players can still craft, gather, upgrade and mount their games, but this time, they can do it with style.
The biggest addition in "Monster Hunter Generations" are hunter arts and the unique ability to unlock or tweak the character's overall skill. The arts are equipped by selecting a hunting style. The gamers will then have the option to determine the abilities and weapon combos. For instance, when using aerial style, the gamers has the skill to extend evade roll. The player can also touch a monster while rolling, leap into the air and engage mounts or use any weapons while on the air.
"Monster Hunter Generations" will be released in North America. Will this pave the way for Nintendo and Capcom's upcoming "Monster Hunter" games including "Monster Hunter: Stories?"
The BitBag reported that Nintendo and Capcom collaborate for a new "Monster Hunter" game called "Monster Hunter: Stories." However, unlike the other games in the franchise, this will allow players to team up with other monsters in the game.
Hunting will still be a major element in "Monster Hunter: Stories" per Siliconera. However, the new game will be much friendlier to new "Monster Hunter" users unlike the main "Monster Hunter" series.
"Monster Hunter Generations" will be released in the West this summer. The BitBag notes that "Monster Hunter: Stories" will only be available in the West if "Monster Hunter Generations" sells well. This is because although "Monster Hunter" is a hit in Japan the series appealed to a niche audience.
Since "Monster Hunter 4: Ultimate" did well, there's a high possibility that "Monster Hunter Generations" will do the same.
