'Arrow' Season 4 Spoilers, News & Update: Malcolm Merlyn Could Replace Damien Dahrk in HIVE

As the upcoming new episode “Broken Hearts” arrives in “Arrow” season four, many fans will get to see things happen, most especially with HIVE.

The previous episode was quite eventful, and left fans and viewers with a lot of questions and room for speculations, reports Design & Trend. Episode 15 saw Vixen's arrival, Dahrk's downfall, Oliver's son being rescued and the end of Oliver and Felicity – Olicity – as people have known it to be.

One of the things that is believed to happen could be HIVE looking for a replacement for Dahrk in the form of Merlyn, who based on the trailer, could take his place. Merlyn visits Darhk in jail to inform him that HIVE has decided to continue with “Project Genesis” even if he's not around.

Being a cunning character, Merlyn could have probably planned this from the very beginning. D&T notes that Merlyn is a man who, having recently lost the League of Assassins, might grab the chance with HIVE to satisfy his longing for the power he once held.

Should Merlyn be the next head of HIVE, it could add more drama to the show, notes D&T. Merlyn is as cunning and sophisticated as Dahrk, but has a background with Team Arrow that will add more spice to the story.

Merlyn also possesses strategic ability and creativity that is expected to maximize HIVE's infrastructure to it's maximum capacity. And with Thea taking on her father and his new organization, this turn of events just might be the climax for this season.

Dahrk, for his part, will be taken into court, reports TVLine. Photos taken from the upcoming episode (as seen in this link) show Laurel taking on Dahrk in the traditional court battle.

Other expected happenings in the upcoming episode include Oliver and Felicity having a fake wedding to get Cupid, who has returned to Star City.

“Arrow” Season 4 Episode “Broken Hearts” airs Wednesday, March 23 on The CW.
