"Steven Universe" Season 2 spoilers and theories discuss the possibility that Lion holds a deeper origin in the CN series. According to Movie Pilot, Lion holds one of the show's biggest mysteries because he had a close relationship with Rose Quartz.
One of the "Steven Universe" Season 2 theories is that Lion may be Bismuth. In an episode entitled "Lion 3: Straight To Video," Lion's pocket held what appeared like a bismuth.
The publication notes that bismuth was used in "Steven Universe" to create new environments, which could hint that Lion's gem may have been used to create the Kindergartens. Some theories, however, note on the possibility that Lion is the actual Bismuth.
Another "Steven Universe" Season 2 theory noted on the possibility that Lion is Pink Pearl. Peridot previously stated that pearls were "made-to-order servants" who holds stuff for their masters.
In "Steven Universe" Season 2, Lion may actually be Pink Pearl because of his color, his ability to hold and keep things and his close affiliation with Rose Quartz.
Other "Steven Universe" Season 2 spoilers, however, claim that Lion may have been a part of Rose Quartz to explain their connection with each other. Several fans noted that Rose may not have lost her gem completely when she sent Steven into the world; instead, the other part of her may have created Lion.
Meanwhile, MNR Daily reported on the possible return date of "Steven Universe" Season 2. The series went into a hiatus in January and the publication notes on the possibility that the show will return on Cartoon Network some time in March or April.
