“Bully” and “Manhunt,” two favorite Rockstar classics on the PlayStation 2 are now available for the PS4.
Both titles unexpectedly went on sale on the PlayStation Store, reports GameSpot. Although both are not remastered for the current-gen console, both games have been upscaled to 1080p and have been given trophy support, Share Play, Remote Play, Activity Feeds and Second Screen Support, reports IGN (https://www.ign.com/articles/2016/03/22/rockstar-classics-bully-and-manhunt-arrive-on-ps4).
“Bully,” or “Canis Canem Edit (Dog Eat Dog)” as it's known in Europe, was originally released in 2006. Players of the game find themselves as Johnny Hopkins, a student dumped by his parents inside the corrupt Bullworth Academy, where he must survive and fight to win over every challenge he faces.
According to IGN, “Bully” is “undoubtedly one of the most engaging, enjoyable and immersive experiences to hit console this year - if not longer.”
“Bully” can be downloaded for $14.99 here.
“Manhunt” on the other hand was released earlier, in 2003. Since the brutal and gory game's release, it became the subject of much controversy. Players take on the role of James Earl Cash, a prisoner on the death row who was promised freedom on one condition: survive a city full of gang members out for his blood.
“In the end, Manhunt is a highly polished strategy game of hide-and-seek, kill-or-be-killed gameplay. It's narrow in focus, but deep in its specialty,” explains the IGN review at the time, “but without a doubt, Manhunt is (with the exception of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty) nearly unsurpassed in its unique brand of stealth and tactical combat.”
The brutal and uncensored “Manhunt” can be downloaded for $14.99 here.
Meanwhile, those who love the tactical turn-based gameplay of “XCOM: Enemy Unknown” can also get a chance to play it in their PS Vita.
“XCOM: Enemy Unknown” was also quietly released alongside the two Rockstar classics, reports Gematsu. Those interested can download “XCOM” for $19.99 here.
