Apple Watch 2 Release Date, Update: Space Black Milanese Loop And Price Drop Announced In March Event

While an Apple Watch 2 update had been conspicuously absent in the March 21 event, CEO Tim Cook and his team's unveiling of "Liam" and update on reusable energy progress with the tech giant did not disappoint. The Apple event saw the bar raised for many of the Cupertino company's products, so to speak.

As MacWorld reports, the Apple Watch is far from obsolete with new bands created with a new material making their debut. Tim Cook himself made the announcement on the new line of bands for the Apple Watch. As Tim Cook pointed out, Apple Watch users will have even more choices with bands made of woven nylon and available in new colors.

Called the Apple Watch Spring Collection, the new bands address the needs of smartwatch users to switch band colors frequently. As Apple Insider reports the nylon bands are available for Apple Watch users in seven colors. These go hand in hand with the new set of colors for the Sports Band line. The leather band line for the Apple Watch now comes with seven additional colors.

That's not all, the magnetic buckle Apple Watch line is given three new colors. Additionally, the loop line of the Apple Watch has been given two new colors. The crowning point of the new Apple Watch bands, however, is the new Space Black Milanese loop. Tim Cook announced to cheers by the audience in the Apple event that the smartwatches will now be available for as little as $299.

Apple Watch users will certainly be kept busy while the second generation watchOS is getting ready. The next months to watch out for as the possible release dates for the Apple Watch 2 are June and September. June will be the 2016 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that Apple holds. If not the actual Apple Watch 2 unveiling, then progress might be hinted at the very least.
