‘Reign Season 3’ Midseason Premiere News: Torrance Coombs Joins Shonda Rhimes Production, S3 Takes Over ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ Slot

"Reign Season 3" midseason premiere will bring back Mary Queen Of Scotts, played by "The Purge" actress Adelaide Kane head to head with Queen Catherine De Medici, plated by "Hard Drive" actress Megan Follows. However, "Reign Season 3" will be the last one for "Eadweard" actor Torrance Coombs who plays King Francis II favorite illegitimate son Sebastian.

According to Deadline Hollywood, "Reign Season 3" midseason premiere will come in under a new viewing schedule. The all new episodes of "Reign Season 3" will take over for CW series "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend." The latter will wrap up its first season right before "Reign Season 3" returns for midseason.

For a little while, the return of "Reign Season 3" had been up in the air with buzz that the series had not been rating as well as expected. However, the return of "Reign Season 3" will allow the series the chance to rally up stronger viewing scores. "Reign" being renewed for Season 4 is a good sign indeed.

While this may be a bittersweet reason, viewership of "Reign Season 3" is expected to go up with impending departure of male lead Torrance Coombs as series. Entertainment Weekly reports that after "Reign Season 3," Torrance Coombs fans will see be able to watch Sebastian but possibly as a guest star. Torrance Coombs did not elaborate on the details of his commitment to the show after "Reign Season 3." He did, however, post on Twitter that "Reign Season 3" will not be a goodbye to Sebastian/ Bash.

Carter Matte reports that his exit as a regular cast after "Reign Season 3" may have to do with Torrance Coombs joining a new project by ABC. The "Still Star-Crossed" show, which takes up where William Shakespeare's classic, "Rome and Juliet" ends. Torrance Coombs will take on the role of Count Paris, whom the Capulets had wanted to match up with Juliet. Shonda Rhimes will serve as executive producer for "Still Star-Crossed." "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal" will also lend Heather Mitchell to "Still Star-Crossed."

In the meantime, followers can watch out for Torrance Coombs along with Adelaide Kane, Megan Fellows and Rachel Skarsten when "Reign Season 3" returns. April 25 is the release date for the "Reign Season 3" midseason premiere.
