Actor Chris Pratt has personally announced in a video that he is giving away a chance for one person and a friend to go and visit the set of “Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2.” Trying to grab that chance will also help others in need, too.
Both Marvel Studios and DC have already launched campaigns raising funds that go to different causes. and this new campaign by Marvel, Chris Pratt and Omaze isn’t any different, reports Screen Rant. In the video that humorously cost “$100 million” to make, Chris Pratt appeared to simply say that people who will donate to help the Lake Stevens Boys and Girls Club will get the chance to visit the set of “Guardians of the Galaxy 2."
The winner will also have a lunch with him, drive a forklift and own Pratt’s chair on set. Of course, some of those are clearly Pratt’s jokes, but others are true. And since the set is in Atlanta, flights and hotel bookings are included, too. See the video for yourself.
Other prizes or rewards vary with the amount of money donated, but they include the Awesome Mix Vol. 1 Cassette, cassette player and headphones (the same one that Star-lord uses in the film), Chris Pratt Snapback caps, autographed Awesome Mix Vol. 1 vinyl, autographed art that Chris Pratt drew himself and a mystery “GOTG” replica prop. The last one is sold out as of time of writing though. The full list of rewards and mechanics can be seen in the Omaze campaign page.
“Donations to this campaign will help the Lake Stevens Boys and Girls Club build a welcoming space where these teens can come to hang out, play games, watch movies, listen to music and enjoy being teens!” the blurb reads. “They'll also be surrounded by positive role models who are always willing to help with homework, resumes or job interview tips.”
Here’s to becoming a “Guardian of The Galaxy.” “Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2” releases in theaters May 5, 2017.
