The official release date for the new Air Jordan XII “Wings” is still to be announced. However, news about the sneakers reveals some details on its availability.
It turns out, according to Complex, that the upcoming Air Jordan XII “Wings” will only have a total of 12,000 pairs in production, making it a limited edition, hard-to-get shoe. Those who are able to get their hands on one will see what number their shoe is out of the total shoes produced, thanks to a label stitched in the shoe’s tongue.
Photos shared over the internet by Instagrammer @miadaddy show what amazing attention is given to the shoe’s details. The shoe comes in a simple black and white colorway (resembling the “Playoffs” colorway) that features some metallic gold accents. There is a gold “wings” detail on the side of the shoe (replacing the usual “Jumpman”), some gold accents on the eyelets and a “wings” poster silhouette seen at the back of the heel.
Both the insoles and the translucent outsole feature a graphic design, while the gold “wings” detail is covered in plastic so that it will be protected from scratches and other damages. The packaging in which this pair comes also compliments it: it comes safely housed in a special white and gold package.
Initially it was thought that the “Wings” model was made exclusively for Macklemore, who got his own last year. However, recent reports imply that indeed the shoe is going to be produced for the public and will be released sometime this coming April. Sneaker Bar Detroit says that the shoe is released with the intention of giving the proceeds to the Wings Foundation.
It is believed that the upcoming Air Jordan XII “Wings” will be sold for $190 per pair. Although it has no exact specific official release date just yet, it is expected to be out this April.
