Colorado Goes Green By Giving Out Free Marijuana To Those Who Participated On The Clean Up Drive

Colorado went green on a higher note. The owner of The Pothole gave away free marijuana to those who joined the clean-up drive last March19.

An event organized by Steve Pacheco, the owner of The Pothole made the headlines as he gave out free marijuana joints. According to Fox 21 News, Pacheco spearheaded a clean-up drive which happened last Sunday, March 19, Sunday and he gave out free marijuana to everybody that participated on the clean-up activity that took place.

According to Pacheco, their clean-up drive incentive is part of their activity in making a stand by proving that marijuana clubs are capable of creating a positive impact on the community. Their clean-up drive was organized after the Colorado spring council members submitted a bill to ban marijuana clubs. It was also cited that the ban ordered establishments to close worn within the next eight years once it would be approved.

"We're going to go out here on the west side and clean up off of Cimmaron and the park off of 26th," Pacheco said during his interview with KRDO. "As you bring bags of trash back to me I'm going to give you a joint per bag you bring back. To show that we are a positive impact, you know, there's nothing wrong with weed and there's nothing wrong with our kind of people."

Pacheco and his team prepared a total of 300 joints to give out to the volunteers. According to marijuana law in Colorado, adults can consume marijuana for recreational use. It is also legal for adults to give out marijuana as a gift as long as there is no money involved.

Ever since the legalization on medical and recreational use of marijuana has been legalized in Colorado, the state was able to gather more than $996 million in 2015. The Cannabist then added that the amount continually increase as licenced marijuana stores continually gather high amounts of customers each month.
