Rockstar Games' sequel for their hit game "Red Dead Redemption" is among the most anticipated games at the time. However, the developers remain mum about the details of "Red Dead Redemption 2." Is the game coming up soon?
Parent Herald previously reported that Rockstar Games would announce the release date of "Red Dead Redemption 2" at E3 2016. Take-Two Interactive, the mother company of Rockstar, confirmed that they would be attending E3. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick even hinted that they would be there "in a big way."
Despite Rockstar Games' silence, "Red Dead Redemption 2" is confirmed and fans can anticipate that the game would eventually arrive because Zelnick already announced that the "Red Dead Redemption" franchise is among the permanent games on their list.
"I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent. It's obvious that GTA is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or Borderlands, for example, and NBA and others," Zelnick explained to VG247.
But when will "Red Dead Redemption 2" arrive?
A recent report from Lazygamer advised fans not to expect too much for "Red Dead Redemption 2" at E3 2016 because the game has been rumored to be in development for quite a while but up to know, it remains in the dark. As for Zelnick's statement that they will be attending E3 with a bang, he might be talking about some other projects.
Per the report, Take-Two Interactive has been treating their fans in E3. For instance, Take-Two Interactive's subsidiary, 2K, is always present at the event with its annual sports franchises along with their strategy games like "Civilisation" and "XCOM." Sometimes, they surprise fans with a new "BioShock" or "Borderlands."
Unfortunately, Rockstar doesn't come with big surprises at E3. Per the report, the team usually prefers to present their games on their own terms. Thus, if the developers will indeed present "Red Dead Redemption 2" at E3 2016, then that would be one event that's worth to remember.
What do you think of this new report? Will Rockstar introduce "Red Dead Redemption 2" in E3 2016?
