A fitness blogger and new mom is causing controversy online after posting a photo of her stunning figure just four short days after giving birth to her baby girl. Norwegian blogger and model Caroline Berg Eriksen is the 26-year-old wife of Norwegian Premier League player Lars-Kristian Eriksen.
Berg gave birth to baby girl Nelia and managed to do what many moms take months to do - return back to her per-baby figure. The reason the photo caused such a stir online is that some commenter's felt it puts extra pressure on new moms to not eat well and take care of themselves after giving birth, but instead focus on losing the baby weight.
On Nov. 28, Eriksen posted an Instagram photo of herself posing in a bra and black underwear. "I feel so empty, and still not... 4 days after birth," she wrote. In the photo, she is seen in her bra and underwear and displays a flat, chiseled abdomen.
"The competition for women to give birth and then immediately remove any trace from their bodies that they ever carried a child is OBSCENE," railed Mama Mia blogger Rebecca Sparrowunder the headline "This is not a selfie. This is an act of war."
The Daily Telegraph's Sarrah Le Marquand called Berg Eriksen "genetically freakish" and, on Twitter, a "shameless exhibitionist."
Caroline Berg Eriksen produces the most popular blog in Scandinavia under the title "Fotbalfrau" which translates as "The Footballers Wife" She has been documenting her pregnancy, fashion style and tips through her blogging platform.
Writer Suzanne Aabel criticized the move and said she couldn't be sure if Berg Eriksen even "belonged to the same species". She said: "In my eyes, this picture is wildly provocative."
