Capcom has announced that the upcoming March Update for “Street Fighter V” is dropping next week, and it contains a lot of updates and content that players will be happy to have.
The March Update will come in two parts, reports GameSpot. The first part, which will be released March 28 Monday, will contain new features such as the Challenge Mode, Trials, an online rematch option (for those who want payback), tweaks in the Battle Lounge, as well as various bug fixes.
The second part, to be dropped March 30, will bring Alex into the existing roster of characters, as well as the in-game shop.
Capcom said that it is not adding Zenny in the upcoming update because it is not yet ready. Zenny is the in-game currency that uses real money for transactions, and Capcom wants to ensure that “it's fully tested an optimized before launching it.” Capcom is taking extra care to make the system gets ready, and promises to launch it when it becomes ready, although at an unknown date.
For those that don't own the Season Pass, this means that Alex and additional costumes that could be purchased in the in-game shop will need to be purchased with Fight Money, which can be garnered through grinding fights. To make up for this, Capcom said it is offering a free trial for Alex until the Zenny shop is launched. Players will also be able to try other DLC characters for free if they are released before the Zenny shop launches.
However, once the Zenny shop launches, all characters on free trial will need to be purchased. Any DLC-related content, such as costumes, that are purchased with Fight Money during the trial will remain, but players will need to purchase the character related to resume using the content.
Additionally, Capcom is making Ryu's and Chun-Li's story mode costumes available for free on March 30.
