'Ratchet & Clank' Release Date, News & Update: New Trailer Features Captain Qwark's Narration

“Ratchet & Clank,” the PlayStation 2 gamem has been given a reimagining and will be released for the PS4 in just a short while. And while the reimagined game hasn't released yet, the folks at Insomniac offers fans something to have fun with.

A new trailer for “Ratchet & Clank” has been released, and if you haven't watched it, it's going to make think that Captain Qwark has a bloated ego, says Digital Trends. Apparently it's because he's the one narrating the video, and while he gets the main details straight, other details revolve around his ridiculous boasting.

Here's the video:

“Greetings, cadet! I’m Captain Copernicus Qwark, galactic ranger extraordinaire,” says the game’s conceited superhero who has cucumbers placed over his eyes. “And that puny little fur ball is Ratchet, who is a lot more trouble than he looks: trust me.”

While Qwark is busy doing his thing, the trailer shows “game based on the movie based on the game” in a good way: with the main character Ratchet blasting his way through different enemies and scenarios. Qwark's narration, however, is still important and not just a marketing stunt.

Insomniac's James Stevenson said in a PlayStation Blog that Qwark's narration brings the biggest difference between the game and the upcoming movie, which will be released just a few weeks after the game.

“The game is narrated by Captain Copernicus L. Qwark. So you get Qwark’s skewed self-serving version of events to set up a different way to experience the story,” Stevenson explains. “He gets all the big details right, but the little asides are all him.”

“As you watch our new trailer for the game,” Stevenson added, “you’ll have to ask yourself: can Qwark be trusted?”

Fans will just have to wait for both the game and the movie to see what's going to happen next.

“Ratchet & Clank” the game releases April 12 for the PlayStation 4, while “Ratchet & Clank” the movie opens in theaters on April 29.
