Infant Facts: 5 Weird Stages Of Baby Development

Baby milestones are full of funny and weird moments because babies are showing some new development and progress on many things and they can be annoying yet very fun. In this stage, they love experimenting many things from gestures to communication.

They usually go unnoticed, but these milestones are actually significant manifestations of progress. Here are some weird one that babies usually have:

1. Babies will pick up and drop stuff repeatedly (6-9 months)

This one is kind of annoying, but you will still see yourself laughing at your baby. Babies love to pick up toys or any stuff that looks interesting to them and when they grab it, they will eventually drop it. You try to give it again to your baby only for them to do the same thing.

It's like a never ending cycle. According to Howkidsdevelop.com, this is the development stage of their motor skills where they try to use their hand and eye coordination. They learn how to pick and drop things.

2. Baby won't stay still when you change his diapers or clothes (8-10 months)

Babies will roll or crawl when you try to put on some new diapers or pajamas. It's could be very frustrating at times, but you can distract them by giving them a toy that would catch their attention. They are testing out their new physical skills because at this stage, they can almost take control of their whole body.

3. Baby screams and cry when they see someone unfamiliar (9 months)

This is called stranger anxiety. WebMD explained that this is the stage where babies have developed emotional attachments, where they prefer to stay with their parents or someone they know because they are sure to receive care. Infants want to stay with those whom they are more comfortable with than those people who are stranger to them.

4. Crying when mom or dad leaves (9 months)

This one, on the other hand, is what experts call separation anxiety. Babies get worried when their mom or dad walks away. They have this kind of attachment to parents because these are the people who provides the utmost care to them. Getting separated without any assurance will make them feel anxious.

5. Baby puts anything in their mouth whatever they hold (9-12 months)

Parents should be careful in this stage because of the choking danger. Babies are discovering and getting information when they eat or suck an object. They will know what the object tastes, the texture, if it is hard or soft, etc. Just keep away hazardous objects and substances from your baby.
