Brother of Angelina Jolie, James Haven, is set to helm the sci-fi movie "The Last Boy." The fantasy indie movie is based on Thomas M. Burby's novel "The Last Boy on Earth."
The Wrap has exclusively learned that Angelina Jolie's brother is going to direct his first feature film titled "The Last Boy" for Traffic City productions. Based on Thomas M. Burby's novel "The Lat Boy on Earth," the story follows a young boy as he searches for other survivors of a deadly airborne virus, which wiped out most of Earth's population.
"The Last Boy" will be produced by Josh Monkarsh, Asher Levin and Kristin Scott Irving. The script was written by Milo Addica. Addica also wrote "Birth" and "Monster's Ball."
The Wrap also learned that after James Haven's short stint in the acting field, the brother of Angelina Jolie has since been busy behind the cameras. James Haven's first directorial efforts were for a short film titled "Court of Conscience," which starred his father Jon Voight and Anton Yelchin from "Star Trek." James Haven also exclusively produced several short films and a feature documentary by Heather Rae titled "Trudell." The said film won the Special Jury Prize for Best Documentary at the Seattle Film Festival. Angelina Jolie's brother also had the chance to direct an episode for "The Game."
In 1998, James Haven had minor acting roles alongside his sister, Angelina Jolie, in "Gia" and "Original Sin." He also appeared in "Monster's Ball" together with the ex-husband of Angelina Jolie, Billy Bob Thornton. He had a supporting role in 2006 horror-thriller "Stay Alive."
Business Standard notes that Angelina Jolie has also been busy behind the camera, making her feature film directorial debut in 2011 with "In the Land of Blood and Honey." Just recently, Angelina Jolie and husband Brad Pitt starred alongside each other in "By The Sea," which she also directed herself.
Angelina Jolie is reported to be working on "First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers," a film based on the life of human rights activist Loung Ung as she survives the Khmer Rouge regime. Check out Angelina Jolie's trailer for "By The Sea."
