'Aquaman' Release Date, News & Update: James Wan Promises The Movie To Be Fun

In his speaking engagement at the recent WonderCon 2016 at Los Angeles Convention Center, James Wan promises that his upcoming movie, "Aquaman," will be fun. James Wan is currently promoting two of his latest films, "The Conjuring 2" and "Lights Out," in the annual convention.

According to Screen Rant, James Wan believes that Aquaman is a character who has been made fun over the years. James Wan assures everyone that he will make a different twist to the personality of Aquaman by showing his cool and badass side.

When asked about his methods in directing the film, James Wan stressed that he will never forget to add some fun to the "Aquaman" movie. "The kind of filmmaker that I am, even my darker horror films are still very fun. And I think that's important for me and the kinds of films I make," James Wan explained.

"Aquaman" is going to be played by Jason Momoa, who is already seen in a short cameo role in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Jason Momoa gives justice to the character of Aquaman as the colored wild creature holding a trident and ready to fight anyone who will try to disturb his undersea world.

Moreover, Movie Pilot reported that "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" already gave a glimpse of the planned DC Extended Universe by showing the cameo roles of the three Justice League characters. The "meta-humans" are seen by Lex Luthor's surveillance video obtained by Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince.

The Flash is first seen with his epic fast movement while Aquaman's appearance is quite frightening. Cyborg is the last to be shown, featuring a new technology that shapes parts of his lower body such as the limbs and torso.

"Aquaman" is expected to be released on July 27, 2018, in the United Statss. However, details about "Aquaman" is not yet disclosed as of this writing.
