Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander's "Rizzoli and Isles" characters are perhaps one of the most loved crime-busting duo on television. Unfortunately Det. Jane Rizzoli (Harmon) and Dr. Maura Isles (Alexander) are finally bidding goodbye in the upcoming "Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7.
The previous "Rizzoli & Isles" season definitely left fans so many unanswered questions and it also ended in a major cliffhanging finale. But in the upcoming "Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7, Rizzoli's patience will reportedly put to test as a new postal inspector will cause some tension in the team, Ecumenical News notes.
"Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7 will definitely get more interesting as "Talking Dead" and "Odd Couple" star Yvette Nicole Brown will appear as a guest star in the upcoming season of the TNT series. According to TVLine, Brown will play the role of ambitious U.S. Postal Inspector CJ Prescott, who will also be responsible in causing tension with Det. Jane Rizzoli.
Meanwhile, fans are still disappointed after it was announced earlier this year that "Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7 will be the final episode of the series. And the last installment will only be 13 episodes.
"Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7 actress Sasha Alexander, however, recently hinted that she's open to the idea that the series will continue running on another network. But Alexander stressed that it would "depend on the deal and if it made sense or not," as per TV Series Finale.
"It would have to depend on the deal and if it made sense or not," Alexander told The Hollywood Reporter. "I'm looking forward to playing different roles but that doesn't mean that I would have said no. I think it would just really have to depend on the situation because sometimes they move it to a [new] network but then they move you to Vancouver; it doesn't mean that it would stay the way it is and just continue."
Despite hinting that she would be open to the possibility of doing another season after "Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7, Alexander also admitted that it's time for them to move on. She also emphasized that she's happy "Rizzoli & Isles" will end while the series is still on top.
"To go that seven years is so rare and I think you have to enjoy it while it's there and know when it's time to move on," she added. "At least we're ending on an up. It's really a bummer when you watch shows and they're on for so long that you feel like they've exhausted every possible story you could ever tell, and I feel like that hasn't happened to us."
Do you think "Rizzoli & Isles" will be moved to a different network? Meanwhile, "Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7 is expected to premiere this summer.
