Chinese Man Claims Back Pain Can Be Cured with Use of Heavy Iron Shoes

A Chinese man claims that back pain can be cured if one wears heavy iron shoes regularly, according to the Daily Mail.

Zhang Fuxing, a Chinese factory worker claims that wearing iron shoes that weigh 434 pounds each can help cure back pain. He has been walking in this type of shoes for the past seven years and suggests that walking just 15 meters a day can also cure hemorrhoids. "After they reached 400 kilograms, I felt very product. Next spring I plan to add 50 kilograms." The 52-year old man credits his ability to walk in heavy iron shoes to the Chinese spiritual martial art Qigong which is said to control the energies in the body. "It's not strong muscles that make you walk like this, the power comes from internal organs. When you walk with your heart it will work."

Another Chinese iron shoe wearer from China to share the Guinness World Record for walking ten meters backwards is Zhang Zhenghui. The Xinhua news agency reported in 2010 that his gold-painted shoes weighed more than 434 pounds. Mr. Fuxing was suffering from back pain which was so bad that he couldn't even bend over to wash his face. Just months after wearing the shoes all of his symptoms were gone.

At present, he manufactures a range of weighted metal footwear in a small factory near his hometown in the northern part of Tangshan. His shoe products are also available for purchase online. A pair of shoes weighing 21 pounds each costs 550 Yuan or $82.35. His heaviest pair of shoes that weighs 131.6 pounds each costs 1,450 Yuan or $238.81.
