There is no doubt that the sequels to blockbuster film "Avatar" is among the most anticipated films. At the time, "Avatar 2" has no official release date after reports of being pushed back. However, new reports suggest that it will likely be out on its next sheduled date.
Initially, "Avatar" was slated for a 2016 release. ComingSoon.net reported that "Avatar 2" and the other two sequels would commence production in 2014. The first sequel will be out in December 2016 and the other two sequels will follow a year apart. Unfortunately, "Avatar 2" was pushed back to 2017 without any official release date at the time.
"Christmas of '17 is the target," Director James Cameron told Montreal Gazette about "Avatar 2's" release date "At least, that's what we've announced. But I don't consider that to be as important as the fact that when we get all three films done, we drop them a year apart. I call it a meta-narrative that runs across the three movies. Each film stands alone, but it also tells one much larger story."
However, "Avatar 2" fans should not fret out because the film will certainly arrive. New reports suggest that it is still on schedule for the holiday 2017 release.
Per Christian Daily, the principal photography of "Avatar 2" will start on Apr. 15 in Manhattan Beach in New Zealand. MNR Daily noted that "Avatar" fans were alarmed with the delay, but with the current progress the sequels are just on track for its scheduled dates.
Meanwhile, Parent Herald previously reported that "Avatar 2" would be more family-oriented. There are rumors that Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) and Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) will be the next priestess and chieftain of the blue flute clan and at the same time, they will be building their own family.
The "Avatar" lead characters will have children who are rumored to be half-human and half-Navi. New characters will be introduced in "Avatar 2."
