'Metal Gear Solid' News & Update: Original Snake Voice Actor Won't Play Video Game, Says It's A 'Disgrace'; Has No Love For Hideo Kojima

It seems like "Metal Gear Solid" fans will be sad to learn that one of the voice actors in the video game will not be returning for the "Metal Gear Solid 5" game production. It is not about personal reasons as well because, according to long time "Metal Gear Solid" voice actor David Hayter, he was replaced by the game studio itself and that he has no particular love for Hideo Kojima after this.

David Hayter has played the voice of Snake in the video game ever since the first "Metal Gear Solid" came out in 1998 up to the "Peace Walker" in 2010. However, he will be no longer part of the "Metal Gear Solid 5" voice actors unfortunately.

According to David Hayter, he is going to be replaced by a Hollywood actor, Kiefer Sutherland. He revealed that, ever since the 3rd "Metal Gear Solid" video game, Hideo Kojima had plans already to cut him off from the production.

David Hayter claimed that Hideo Kojima has wanted a Hollywood actor to play the voice of Snake ever since "Metal Gear Solid 3" and even tried to hire Kurt Russel to do the job. Unfortunately, Kurt Russel did not accept it and David Hayter was back on the job.

"I had to re-audition for Metal Gear 3 to play Naked Snake," David Hayter said. "They made me re-audition to play Old Snake, and the whole time, they were trying to find somebody else to do it. I heard that Kojima asked one of the producers on Metal Gear Solid 3 to ask Kurt Russell if he would take over for that game. He didn't want to do it."

Furthermore, David Hayter exclaimed that he will not play "Phantom Pain" and "Ground Zeroes" because he feels that it will be "60 hours of humiliation." Kojima Studios has yet to make a statement about David Hayter's claims.
