Uh-oh! Is Donald Trump dead? This statement would probably be on your mind if you are one of those passersby who saw Donald Trump's mysteriously creepy tombstone in Central Park over the weekend.
New Yorkers, who were strolling in Central Park, were taken by surprise on Sunday afternoon when they spotted a tombstone for real estate mogul and 2016 U.S. Presidential Elections candidate Donald Trump. According to Headlines and Global News, someone who's annoyed with Donald Trump decided to poke fun by putting a tombstone in the Sheep's Meadow area of the park.
The Donald Trump tombstone appeared so real that it even had the GOP frontrunner's birth year engraved on it. And while the gravestone did not have a year of death on it, the phrase "Made America Hate Again" was inscribed on the stone.
While the Donald Trump tombstone was only erected in Central Park overnight, many New Yorkers were able to photograph it. The photos were then profusely shared on social media websites despite the fact that New York City's Parks Department has removed it.
It remains unclear who erected Donald Trump's tombstone. It is also unclear if the Secret Service will consider the tombstone as a death threat.
"We're not going to comment on protective procedures or protective knowledge like that," Martin Mulholland, special agent in charge of the Secret Service's office of public affairs, told ABC News on Monday.
Meanwhile, Daily Mail reports that it is also unclear if Donald Trump's tombstone was even erected there in the first place. As a matter of fact, a reporter from the publication actually went down to the site Sunday afternoon and could not see any sign of the said tombstone.
In addition, the publication added that a park official said that the photo of Donald Trump's tombstone was already posted online "ages ago" and they had also confirmed that the photo was photoshopped. A park ranger on duty also denied seeing the tombstone at the park.
As of late, it is still unclear whether Donald Trump's tombstone was fake or not. And though the move wasn't all too surprising, the message behind the hoax was quite creepy.
