'Quantum Break' Release Coming Up -- What You Need to Know

"Quantum Break," the newest Microsoft-exclusive title that will be coming up in just a few days' time, is a very promising game that will appeal to old-school players as well as action and shooting game fans alike.

In "Quantum Break" players take on the role of Jack Joyce, who comes from a north-eastern college town, reports Gotta Be Mobile. In that same town, researchers from a company named Monarch are able to discover and work out the mechanics of time and space.

However, when a research project fails, time starts to slowly break down, causing Joyce and Paul Serene, Monarch's head, to have the ability to manipulate time. Joyce then sets out on a mission to stop time from breaking down and unveil Monarch's secrets while doing so.

While the story is quite linear, players are given the ability to decide what will happen to the story by way of "Junctions," in which the player chooses what will happen next. Each decision will have ramifications for what happens in the whole story.

The game is packed with a lot of story, whether players will buy in to the game's narrative or not, reports VG247. The game features a lot of content that includes TV shows, emails, newspaper reports, voiceovers, photos and other clues. By these, game developer Remedy hopes to make players enjoy the game as it should be enjoyed.

"It's all laid out in front of the player with such confidence that to not go at Remedy's pace - to rush through it - is to completely miss the point," says VG247. "Soak it up."

The game features a third-person camera style of gameplay that closely reminds players of old action story games. And although some might think that the idea of an old-school shooter might be boring, making your way through enemies by manipulating time to set up a good show will be fun. It will look visually stunning, too. "Quantum Break" releases April 5 for the Xbox One and PC.
