James Corden surprised everyone with his "Carpool Karaoke" stints on YouTube. Now, as "Carpool Karaoke" turns out to be a big hit, the singing segment is set to have a one-hour primetime special on CBS with a very exceptional guest, Jennifer Lopez.
According to Harper's Bazaar, in the new teaser video, James Corden can be seen rapping and dancing with the song "Downtown" by Macklemore & Lewis. Then, the clip gives a glimpse of Jennifer Lopez sitting beside James Corden ready for a "Carpool Karaoke" experience.
Hence, fans of both "Carpool Karaoke" and Jennifer Lopez got too much excited and are looking forward to seeing J.Lo perform her greatest hits. James Corden's "Carpool Karaoke" already made noise when it starred the likes of Adele, Justin Bieber, One Direction and Elton John.
"Carpool Karaoke" has quickly gone viral and it is not surprising to see it having an own primetime special. Moreover, Jimmy Fallon's "Lip Sync Battle" segment now has its own "spin-off show" with LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen.
Thus, the possibility of James Corden's "Carpool Karaoke" having a primetime show is not that far-fetched, Vanity Fair reports. The Hollywood Reporter also notes that James Corden and his previous "Late Late Show" producers are studying the concept of having their own version of "Carpool Karaoke" on Spike TV with a spin-off title, "Caraoke Showdown."
This might replace Craig Robinson's "knock-off series" as there are reports that it is not going that well. Meanwhile, "Carpool Karaoke" Primetime Special will feature the highlights of the segment for the past year.
"The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special" airs on CBS on Tuesday at 10 p.m. Watch the teaser video below with James Corden and Jennifer Lopez.
