'The Winds of Winter' Release Date, News & Update: Book Delayed Because George RR Martin Is Suffering From Major Writer's Block; 'TWOW' Out In Late 2016 Or Early 2017

The wait for the sixth installment of the popular novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire" is still not over. Fans continue to wait for the arrival of "The Winds of Winter" without a concrete reason for the delay. For those wondering what took "TWOW" so long and what made George RR Martin write so slow, this report might give you a good understanding.

Parent Herald previously reported that the "The Winds of Winter" is delayed. There are rumors that "TWOW" will not be arriving this year and is pushed back to 2017. For what reason? No one can tell.

However, Master Herald reported that George RR Martin is suffering from major writer's block. This is a condition where the author struggles to write despite the availability of information, time and deadline. This condition reportedly caused the continued delay of the anticipated book, "The Winds of Winter."

Various critics blamed George RR Martin's hectic schedule in the past that kept him away from his working desk to have caused the condition. The 67-year-old admitted that he doesn't work when he's not at his desk. Due to several commitments like interviews and conferences the author is going through an intense writer's block.

There are rumors that Martin's friend , Neil Gaiman is helping him finish the book. These speculations started from a report from Santa Fe New Mexican who spotted the "American Gods" author on Martin's hometown.

"The silver bullet to this hypothesis? It would be awesome. Any reader, or fan of fantasy, science fiction, fiction in general, loves this possibility: " the report said. "George emailing his penpal Neil to come for a visit and take a look at what he's got; the two go for a few long walks in the brisk February air; they discuss the next steps for Sam Tarly at the Citadel; the book comes out next Thursday."

However, Gaiman refuted the story in a tweet. Bustle concluded that the reports about Gaiman helping Martin to finish the long overdue book "The Winds of Winter" is not true.

Meanwhile, Breathecast reported that there are rumors that "The Winds of Winter" will be out in late 2016 or early 2017.
