iPhone 8 Plus announcements were not expected in the Apple media event where the company launched various great gadgets including the iPhone SE. However, many people were already looking forward to what was in store for the tech giant in the future.
While the iPhone SE had generally received positive reviews, Apple was urged to look at making some improvements to their iPhone lineup starting 2017 if the recent reports are to be believed.
According to a report from 9to5Mac, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who had been well-known for his work with Apple products, had said that Apple was planning to upgrade its iPhone lineup this coming 2017. The report included several changes that the tech company was planning, but one of them was releasing a new 5.8-inch iPhone next year.
The iPhone 8 Plus, according to a report from Apple insider, is expected to have a similar model to that of the iPhone 4 wherein the unit will utilize glass panels in its flagship handsets. It will not be different from the ones used in the iPhone 4 and 4s but Apple will reportedly incorporate curved glass for both the front and back of the device.
The same report cited that the large unit will have an AMOLED display which will be a big departure from the LCD screens that Apple had been using for its products. With the AMOLED screen, the company can make future iPhones, have better battery life and potentially feature a much thinner design.
iPhone 8 Plus still had no name attached to its large 5.8-inch design. However, fans claimed that this was a reasonable assumption since the iPhone 8 will be the upcoming flagship smartphone for the company in 2017. Still, other users hope Apple will have something else up its sleeves and introduce a completely new line.
