T-Mobile has begun testing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS update for Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 users on their network. It is also expected to unveil soon. Sprint, on the other hand, is reportedly the only U.S. carrier with customers who are already running the update for Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 after the OS update release early this month.
AT&T and Verizon are also considering a release of the Andoid 6.0 Marshmallow update soon, CNET reported. While the two earlier Samsung models have already moved to T-Mobile testing stage, it was reported that an OS update for Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is now in the works, yet still in the manufacturer development phase. Despite the progress, it means that the handset's users have an update to look forward to.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow update's latest features offer quicker setting toggles for Private Mode in the status bar, as well as more exciting emoji characters. The users will also enjoy enhanced visibility of the notification panel icons. Also, a new security feature is included. An unrecognized fingerprint will give a vibration feedback to the user and with the new option called "Install Overnight," an update can be installed at night from 2 to 5 am.
The latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update can also change the interface of the handset, replacing blue with white, including other changes in the appearance of some of the apps' icons. Moreover, among the major highlights of this latest Android update is the Google Now On Tap that gives contextual information anywhere on the smartphone, Android Community reported.
There are Android 6.0 Marshmallow users who have previously complained about updating their devices. According to them, they were not able to use the features due to a long wait following the download option. However, with the new update, the issue has been resolved by Google. It has now been confirmed by a Reddit user that Google Now On Tap is more user-friendly because it can now load faster.
