Fans of the "Star Wars" film will still see conflict and war in "Star Wars Episode 8" as confirmed by one of its actors. After the fierce battle in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and Han Solo's death, there will be more actions in the upcoming film, "Star Wars Episode 8."
Adam Driver, who plays the villainous Kylo Ren in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," shares some juicy details about the anticipated blockbuster film, "Star Wars Episode 8." The "Midnight Special" star revealed that the First Order and Resistance will remain at odds in "Star Wars Episode 8."
"They're still at war. It's still Star Wars," Adam Driver told Entertainment Weekly. "They're not at peace."
Rian Johnson is taking the directorial chair for "Star Wars Episode 8" from J.J. Abrams, who decided to leave it after "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Driver revealed that the two directors have different temperaments.
"I feel like there was so many moving pieces in the first one - just trying to solve it and set the vocabulary for what it was. There's a lot of that anxiety is gone, because people have developed a language," Adam Driver said.
"I think it's more of a testament to Rian coming into something very established and making it [his own]. I can't wait to get on set, just because he's so unassuming and intelligent and approachable. The script they've come up with is really great."
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was a hit. According to Box Office Mojo, as of March 29, the film already earned a domestic total of $933,946,360. Meanwhile, The Numbers listed the film in the third spot of all time highest grossing movies worldwide.
However, despite its success, Adam Driver admitted that it didn't change him. "I didn't turn into a new person," he said. "Nothing happened to me. But a lot of people saw it, and that was good. I guess my Christmas is kind of easier now - the toys and things for family. Kids is a big thing: I feel like before parents kept me away from their kids; now it's like, go get a picture."
"Star Wars Episode 8" is set for release on Dec. 15, 2017.
