There is no question that one of the biggest hit movies this year is Marvel Comic's superhero "Deadpool," which dominated the theaters it was released to and not only in North America but all around the world.
"Deadpool" is extremely different from its other Marvel brother movies including "The Avengers" and "X-Men." One great difference is the fact that "Deadpool," despite being a superhero which kids normally looked up to, was a R-Rated film since it was created to be different from other superheroes in the Marvel Comic Universe.
"Deadpool" has dominated the box-office and is now officially the highest-grossing R-Rated film of all time, overpassing the sci-fi movie "The Matrix Reloaded" that grossed $742 million worldwide. Marvel's "Deadpool" grossed a whopping $745.7 million worldwide.
"The Matrix Reloaded" had the number one spot for the highest grossing R-Rated film for 13 years and the closest movie to ever pass the $600 million mark was Mel Gibson's "The Passion of The Christ." Now, "Deadpool" has toppled these incredible movies.
The people behind "Deadpool" now have more reason to celebrate because it also has the chance to be the highest grossing "X-Men" film. Deadpool, who is considered as a mutant, is part of the large storyline of "The X-Men." There have been numerous "X-Men" films that grossed greatly including "X-Men Days of The Future Past," which grossed at $747.7 million in the past two summers.
"Deadpool" is highly likely to overpass this record in a few week time and this is even without a 3D conversion. If "Deadpool" did have a 3D conversion, then it could have probably grossed at more than $800 million easily.
