'Sister Wives' Season 7 Updates: TLC Reportedly Cancels Show After Kristyn Decker's Revelation About Brown Family

There are rumors that “Sister Wives” will be canceled by TLC after recent news surfaced that the reality show was fake. “Sister Wives” focuses on the polygamist Brown family, featuring Kody Brown and his four wives, Christine, Janelle, Meri and Robyn.

Previously, Radar Online wrote that Kristyn Decker, the aunt of Christine Brown, revealed that the show was fake. She said that the decision for the family to move from Utah to Las Vegas was mainly intended to boost TV ratings, and not to get away from legal issues surrounding their polygamist lifestyle.

In “Sister Wives,” the family revealed that only Kody and Meri Brown were legally married. The other three sister wives were merely “spiritual wives.” Polygamy used to be allowed in Utah, but the state was looking to prosecute the Browns for their illegal marriages. They decided to transfer to Las Vegas, a move that boost the TV ratings of “Sister Wives.”

“They talked about moving to Vegas [to escape Utah’s anti-polygamy laws] long before they did. That was their plan and they used the State coming after them for ratings. That’s my strong opinion,” Decker told Radar Online.

Decker used to be part of a polygamist relationship but later left. She revealed the true nature of “Sister Wives” after Christine spoke out against her for quitting polygamy. However, she also clarified that her statements are based on her own strong opinions.

The Brown family has been through a lot of stress, writes FashionNStyle. They are involved in a case against Utah to legalize polygamy, which disappointed Decker who alleged that the “Sister Wives” only announced it before Christmas for the sake of publicity. Decker said that the sister wives have been doing things clandestinely instead of staying open and providing a voice to the people of Utah.

As the controversies on “Sister Wives” continue, TLC just might cancel the current season. The show has garnered loyal viewers through the years and some are optimistic that more stories about the Brown family will be shown, especially after Kody and Robyn welcomed their new baby.

The talks of cancelation have yet to be confirmed. If “Sister Wives” continues, the upcoming episodes may delve more on Kody, Robyn and their two kids. In the previous season, Meri divorced Kody to guarantee that Robyn’s children from a previous marriage can be adopted.
