Xbox Head Phil Spencer on PC Gaming: ‘We've Heard the Feedback Loud and Clear’

On March 30, 2016 at Microsoft's Build conference in San Francisco, Phil Spencer announced to PC gamers that the company listens to their feedback. "We are working to ensure Windows 10 has a great gaming experience," Phil Spencer says.

According to a news article on GameSpot, the company is aiming to turn Windows 10 into a "great gaming experience" as it continues to evolve and adds up new features, like new ones this May. Microsoft enables the ability to disable vsync as well as add support for FreeSync (AMD) and G-Sync (Nvidia) by means of an update to the Xbox PC app. "We have heard the feedback from the PC gaming community loud and clear. And we are working to ensure Windows 10 has a great gaming experience," Spencer articulated.

In a news flash on GamesFaqs, Microsoft said, as the company looks out further, that it will definitely deliver additional features for the Xbox PC app, which include overlays and modding support. These are two further community-requested items. "[We are] committed to ensuring we meet or exceed the performance expectations of full-screen games as well as the additional features including support for overlays, modding, and more," Spencer further explained.

This is not actually the first time that the Xbox boss had spoken up in his desire to respond to ever-increasing concerns about its PC gaming efforts. In addition, Spencer told GameSpot, earlier this month, that he certainly understands the issues gamers had with GFWL and why they would rather be skeptical about PC gaming on Windows 10. But the Xbox boss makes it his personal mission to shift things around.

As a reminder that Spencer was not actually the Head of Xbox during the GFWL days, he emphasized, "I understand GFWL is part of the history of Microsoft and gaming for PC gamers. We absolutely have a responsibility to answer the gamers' concerns of the people who bet on us [with GFWL] and the outcome--it's front and center."

"I understand the skepticism that people have, but I just want to stand up and say we're very, very committed as a company to ensure that gaming on Windows 10 is a great experience," Spencer added.
