'Metal Gear Online: Survival Mode' Release Date, News & Update: 1.11 Upgrade Arriving Next Week?

Fans can just get enough of "Metal Gear Online" after Konami released the video, which shows an overview of the new mode.

In a news report on Play Station LifeStyle, "Metal Gear Online" is scheduled for a new patch next week. The 1.11 update comes with a brand new Survival Mode that organizes six players into successive matches, which aims to achieve a win streak of five or more matches as well as earn special rewards.

Even though all players can access the Survival mode, players who already have the latest Cloaked in Silence expansion pack can easily delve into the new mode without any limitation as cited in an article on Polygon. On the other hand, some fans of Metal Gear Online can be able to play only ten matches a week. In addition, this free update offers players maps which are previously exclusive to downloadable-content owners.

In "Metal Gear Online" on PlayStation 3, moreover, a Survival mode was included. A starter pack for the same game also came with 'Metal Gear Sold 4 - Guns of the Patriots'. However, in 2012 its servers shut down.

PC Gamer's Shaun Prescott reports that the revamped "Metal Gear Online" was launched on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 One back in the fall. But earlier this year, steam players had gained access to the campaign. Arriving earlier this month, the Cloaked in Silence pack brought new maps as well as a playable character among other things.

"Metal Gear: Survival Mode" no longer involves picking berries, chopping down trees or anything like that. As cited on PC Gamer, the game is a six-player free-for-all with the aim of gaining a win-streak of five or more matches.

The 1.11 update is expected to be released this April 5 or 7. Check out for more info on the official MGS site.
