'Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice' Cast News & Update: Ben Affleck Not Getting Batman Solo Films?

The lukewarm reviews for "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" do not seem to pinpoint Ben Affleck's performance as the Dark Knight as one of the issues that held down the DC movie.

In fact, there's generally a positive response as regards to Affleck's portrayal in "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" of one of the most beloved comic book superheroes. There's a good portion of moviegoers saying he might be the best live-action Batman yet.

Some might argue that it is best for Affleck to star in Batman solo films this time. Even before "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" was released, Warner Bros heads already knew he had to don that mask and cape again.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, William Morris Endeavor CEO and Affleck's long-time agent Patrick Whitesell revealed how many times the actor is contracted to play the Caped Crusader, the first one being "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice."

"He's contracted to do at least Justice League One and Two, so at least three times wearing the cape" Whitesell revealed. Of course, this number is not set in stone yet and the "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" lead himself seems to be interested with the prospect of Batman solo films.

"There's a script that he's written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that's out there as an option," Whitesell continued said, pertaining to the "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" star.

Without a doubt, Affleck seems to love being behind the camera as either a writer or a director as much as he loves being in front of it. Maybe he'll do double or triple duty in the Batman solo films.

On the surface, it can be said that Affleck has gone so far as to pen a draft of a Batman solo movie. It is not clear whether or not this "cool Batman idea" will see the light of day soon and it may be too early to know yet with "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" at the center of the attention.

For now, it can be said that "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" and the "Justice League" films are the only films fans will see Affleck as the Batman, or the internet has come to refer to as Batfleck.

[Spoiler Alert! "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" spoilers ahead] "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" director Zack Snyder says that with Superman gone, Affleck's Batman will take center stage in forming the Justice League in the two-part films.

"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is now showing in theaters worldwide. According to Deadline, the film has already raked in $530 million globally and is overall doing great despite the contrasting feedback.

"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" stars Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams and Jesse Eisenberg. It debuted last March 26.
