Microsoft Surface Phone Specs, Price, News & Update: Super Windows Phone Targets Business-Oriented Users

Microsoft Surface Phone is proof that the multinational giant is not leaving the mobile wars clear for Android and iOS. The Microsoft Surface Phone will join the Lumia in keeping loyal users within the Microsoft family.

International Business Times reports that the Microsoft Surface Phone is intended to be as powerful as a full-sized computer in smartphone packaging. Microsoft chief marketing officer, Chris Capossela, hinted in December of the development of the Microsoft Surface Phone. According to Chris Capossela, Microsoft is developing the technology giant's most powerful Windows Phone yet, but it is not from the Lumia line.

The media agency quotes PC Tablet in reporting that the Microsoft Surface Phone is expected to have a 5.5-inch AMOLED display, Intel Atom x3 processor with 4GB RAM, Windows 10 OS and as much as 256GB to 500GB internal storage. The Microsoft Surface Phone may be offered with the possible accompaniment of Surface accessories and compatibility with the Microsoft product range including Xbox One. The Microsoft Surface Phone is also expected to have at least, if not better than, 21-megapixel PureView rear lens and an 8-megapixel Zeiss Wide-Angle lens.

The Microsoft Surface Phone is reportedly geared to be categorized as a business phone. Considering the advanced features expected in the Microsoft Surface Phone, the unit price for this high-end model is also expected to surpass the Apple iPhone. REM reports that a Microsoft Surface Phone unit may have a starting price of $699 and a ceiling price of $999.

While Microsoft disappointingly did not unveil the Microsoft Surface Phone in the 2016 Mobile World Conference, the delay has only heightened expectations for the new Windows Phone. Reports suggest that the Microsoft Surface Phone will, instead, follow the release cycle that the technology giant uses. This means that in all likelihood, the Microsoft Surface Phone will make its debut in October.
