It has been four years of waiting and counting, but the sixth book of "A Song of Ice and Fire" is still in the dark. When will "The Winds of Winter" see the light of day?
For those who are eager to get a copy of "The Winds of Winter," just keep your hopes high because George RR Martin is dedicated to finishing the book. The 67-year-old author is well-aware that many readers are expecting "TWOW."
In one of his blog entries, George RR Martin promoted "Colony," when one fan asked him if he would be writing an episode for "Game of Thrones" season 7. Readers who are anticipating for "The Winds of Winter" will surely be pleased with the New Mexican author's response.
"I am not writing anything until I deliver WINDS OF WINTER. Teleplays, screenplays, short stories, introductions, forewords, nothing," George RR Martin wrote in response to the question. "And I've dropped all my editing projects but Wild Cards."
So, there it is, George RR Martin will not welcome other commitment and invitations until he finishes "The Winds of Winter." While this may be promising, will he make it this time? Or disappoint the fans who have been waiting for "TWOW" again?
Since George RR Martin will not be working with other projects, many assume that this will speed up the writing and publishing of "The Winds of Winter" because his goal is to finish the book. Will he make it this time?
It can be remembered that George RR Martin initially aimed to finish "The Winds of Winter" before "Game of Thrones" season 6 premieres.
Finishing "The Winds of Winter" before "GoT" season 6 "has been important to me all along," George RR Martin told Entertainment Weekly. "I canceled two convention appearances, I'm turning down a lot more interviews-anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done."
Unfortunately, HBO's hit series is back this month and "The Winds of Winter" is still not done. Parent Herald previously reported about the rumors that "TWOW" would be out before "GoT" season 7.
