Recent "Final Fantasy XI" rumors, news and updates revealed of how the game was in its offline mode for the past day. In line with that, the rumors and speculations of "Final Fantasy XI" bidding Xbox 360 and PS2 farewell are escalating.
In a post from Gamespot, it was disclosed that the first ever-Final Fantasy MMO has stopped its operation on its consoles along with the servers for "Final Fantasy XI." Also, it was noted that the game had been permanently offline today on its two platforms as well.
According to the same report, "Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 versions of the game have been phased out and Square Enix warned the players that this would be happening last March, around the time it announced plans to develop a mobile version in collaboration with Nexon Korea."
Looking back, it goes without saying that Final Fantasy XI arrived in Japan in the year 2002 for its PC and PS2 platforms. However, western releases followed over the next two years on both platforms, along with the Xbox 360 version are set for this year.
On a different post from Play Online, "Service for Final Fantasy XI's PC version continues and that the console players are in a position to move over to that version without having to buy any new software. Given the option to move the game, many game enthusiasts' have decided to run the game on their other devices and gears.
Being such an old game, it doesn't require a particularly innovative system to run and nevertheless, a benchmarking tool is available to see how your computer will hold up running the game, according to the same report.
Moreover, it stands out that Xbox is devoted to improving its features and its users gaming experience. To prove the latter, a former report from Parent Herald revealed that the firm is dedicated to hearing out the complaints, suggestions and feedbacks of its users.
On a different note, as the Final Fantasy XI bids Xbox 360 and PS2 farewell, it does not signify its end but it is paving a way for new developments and a better gaming experience.
