One of the major blockbuster movies that came out in theaters worldwide recently is DC Comics' "Batman V Superman." Although the movie having been heavily criticized and getting a very low score from famous movie review website like Rotten Tomatoes, "Batman V Superman" is still raking in a lot of money.
Now, fans have many questions about the movie and some of the holes in the storyline. One of the most frequently asked question by fans about "Batman V Superman" is what happened to Robin? Zack Snyder, "Batman V Superman" director, has an answer for the fans.
Unlike the famous fan theory that Robin -- Batman's sidekick -- becoming a villain, more specifically becoming The Joker himself, Zack Snyder says that there was a storyline in the "Batman" comic book that was more interesting to him as the backstory of Robin. In the 1998 graphic novel of "Batman" titled "A Death In The Family" Robin died during a run in with a much younger Joker.
"In my mind, it was that Robin had died 10 years earlier, during some run in with a young Joker," Zack Snyder said. "To me, it was a fun backstory ... to play with. The whole idea was that there had been loss and sacrifice. [Batman] doesn't really have a life outside of the cave. I thought by including Robin - a dead Robin - it would help us understand he's been on quite a little journey," he added.
In other news, the next DC movie that will come out "Suicide Squad" is rumored to have been reshot again after the criticisms "Batman V Superman" got for being too dark and having no humor. The director of "Suicide Squad" reportedly had reshot some scenes to make the movie lighter.
"Suicide Squad" is a movie surrounding the supervillains of the DC comic world, which will include The Joker (Jared Leto), Harlye Quinn ( Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith) and many more.
