"Outlander" Season 2 is less than a week from its premiere on Starz and Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe could not help but share their excitement over the upcoming surprises and changes that await fans of the time traveler series. In a recent interview, Balfe and Heughan revealed some exciting details about the upcoming episodes of the show.

"Outlander" Season 2 cast and crew recently gathered to celebrate their TV Guide Magazine cover. In an interview with Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, the stars told E! News that fans should brace themselves for a lot of surprises in the upcoming season of the time traveler series.
"I want them to be surprised. I want them to be shocked," Balfe said.
"Outlander" executive producer Ron Moore also told the publication that Season 2 will not premiere from where things left off in Season 1. Instead, the show will have a time jump, which will give fans a glimpse into the future.
"He [Ron Moore] shows us in the beginning where we're going to end up, and then it's like a choice of here's how we get there, and I thought it was a really bold, wonderful move," she added.
The executive producer also shared that fans should expect that there will be changes from Diana Gabaldon's second book, "Dragonfly in Amber," but reassured them that all the important points in her book will be in "Outlander" Season 2.
"Sometimes we get there in different ways, we might do them in little different sequence than the book presents it," he revealed.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Herald Scotland, Sam Heughan admitted that he is very excited for "Outlander" Season 2. The 35-year-old Scottish actor shared that the show always tries to be as realistic as possible and this is what makes him excited.
"We are doing an authentic - as close as you can be - reproduction of the history of that period in Scotland and France," Heughan shared.
"Outlander" Season 2 premieres on Apr. 9 on Starz.
