Drew Barrymore And Will Kopelman Divorce Update: Couple Would Still Be A Family Despite Divorce

Three years into their marriage, Drew Barrymore and her husband Will Kopelman decided to call it quits. Despite having their divorce procedure finalized, Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman cited that they will remain intact as a family.

Despite the fact that Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman ended their marriage, the pair, however, made it clear that it would not affect their family duties. The divorce announcement was first reported by Page Six where it was stated that Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman are going through tough times, yet they decided to stay together for their children. They both have two daughters, a three year old Olive and Frankie who will be turning two this April.

Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman confirmed their divorce after releasing an official announcement through People. The pair explained the reason as to why they called it quits but clearly noted that they will remain as a family.

"Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family," the duo said in their official statement published by People. "Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on. Our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority."

Though it was reported that the couple are going through tough times since last year; during her interview with People, Drew Barrymore shared how delighted she is with the way Will Kopelman fathered their daughters. She even cited that love putting their kids first.

"Honestly, I don't know how it is for other couples but really I like watching him be a father," Drew Barrymore told People during her interview with People last October. "I know everyone says you're supposed to put your coupledom first. But I really love it being all about the kids. Maybe that's my compensating for not having parents myself or a childhood but right now, the focus is about how we're figuring things out as parents."
