Game developer Pearl Abyss has announced its future plans for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game "Black Desert Online."
Pearl Abyss revealed the details during a press conference in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul, South Korea, reports Twinfinite. The future plans included various modifications and additional content such as new territories, new awakening weapons and a new playable class called "Beniteu," more commonly known as Dark Elves.
Here are Pearl Abyss's future "Black Desert Online" game plans, as seen in Inven (and translated by DualShockers):
Ocean Content:
A huge ocean will be introduced and continuously updated with various water-borne content.
Using the map will not be allowed in the ocean, forcing players to use other means of orientation to navigate the seas.
On the other side of the ocean there will be a huge unknown continent.
Fishing hot spots in the ocean will be identifiable thanks to seagulls flying in the air. Undersea exploration and treasure hunting will be implemented in coastal areas.
Sea battles will be implemented, using warships that players will craft in guild houses. Trading ships will also be added, with the implementation of ocean trading.
Weapons:
Ninja and Kunoichi will get their own awakening weapons. Ninjas will be able to use multiple swords, while Kunoichi will receive a giant Chakram.
Wizards and witches will get golems and spirits. Those will grant Wizards powers of fire and water, and witches powers of earth and electricity. This will come in the future.
New Land and Class:
The land of Kamasilve, homeland of the elves, will be implemented in the summer. Kamasilve is ruled by two queens, Beulollina and Hearawen.
In Kamasilve also dwells a race called Beniteu, commonly defined dark elves. They will be added as a playable class. They're very agile, very aggressive and use magic as a secondary ability. They have a similar feel to the Ranger, and at the moment is unclear whether the class will be gender locked or not.
Later this year the land of Drigan will be added south of Calpheon, focusing on the strained relationships between giants, dwarfs and elves.
Mounts:
Tier 9 horses will be added, and will distinguish themselves due to their skills and not their speed like tier 1-8. There will be three different kinds: The hell horse, Pegasus, and unicorn.
