Fans will be happy to know that Sega has announced the May release of the unique turn-based role-playing game "Valkyria Chronicles Remastered." More than that, a beautiful story trailer has been released for the entire world to see.
Here's the trailer, followed by the official synopsis (as shared by PlayStation Lifestyle).
"In the world of Valkyria Chronicles, the year is 1935 E.C., and the continent of Europa has been plunged into the Second Europan War between the Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance - also known as The Empire - and the Atlantic Federation over the precious resource Ragnite. The Empire is sweeping through the continent like an unchecked wildfire and has its eyes set on the rich Ragnite deposits of the Principality of Gallia. Although peaceful Gallia remains neutral in the conflict, its citizens will need to defend home and country against the inevitable invasion. Players follow Lieutenant Welkin Gunther and the vaunted Squad 7 of the Gallian Militia as they take on the seemingly insurmountable forces of the Empire."
"Valkyria Chronicles Remastered" will feature the game's 'HD' canvas engine, and will now run on 1080p and 60fps on the PlayStation 4, reports Digital Trends. It will also feature all available downloadable content, including side story missions such as Edy's "Enter the Edy Detachment," the six-mission "Challenge Edy Detachment," and Selvaria's "Behind Her Blue Flame."
In "Valkyria Chronicles," players control a group of characters against an imperial army in 30 different settings. Each character is unique, with his or her backstory and personality, and could either belong to classes such as a scout, sniper or engineer. Within each class, soldiers have the same abilities and stats, only differentiated by a 'potential.'
The PS4 remaster also features an additional expert difficulty mode for skirmishes, as well as trophy support. "Valkyria Chronicles Remastered" releases May 17 for the PS4.
