Boxing News & Update: Mayweather Reveals Mistakes Broner Made Fighting Theophane

After witnessing him defeat his Mayweather Promotions fighter Ashley Theophane (39-7-1, 11 KOs), Floyd Mayweather Jr. revealed some mistakes light welterweight champion Adrien Broner (32-2, 24 KOs) made during the fight.

Mayweather said that he's happy for Adrien Broner, who won last Friday night against Ashley Theophane by a 9th round knockout, at the DC Armory in Washington, DC.

According to Boxing News 24, the 26-year-old Broner called out Mayweather after the fight. Broner motivated his wish to fight Mayweather on some of the comments that he had made recently to the media.

Broner considered that it was wrong that Mayweather commented his behavior in the media and wanted to fight for that reason. However, it seems that Mayweather is not interested in fighting Broner.

At the moment, Mayweather is already retired and he is not willing to return to the ring. Many other top fighters have also called him out before Broner. However, since Broner has not won any fight in years against a big name in boxing, is not easy for Mayweather to take him seriously. Theophane isn't a big name in boxing because he is not highly ranked in the 140lb division and he is just a fringe contender.

Mayweather said he is not "really interested in fighting at this time." He added that Adrien Broner had a good performance but he has seen a lot of mistakes in his fight. According to Mayweather, Broner depends only on a wide hook and he was flat-footed.

The flaws seen by Mayweather in Broner's fighting style have been there since 2008 when the boxer turned pro. Since then Broner has always throw wide hooks and has been flat-footed. His game style appears to be somehow a copy for Mayweather's style.

According to Sky Sports, Mayweather is also not impressed by Broner's conduit out of ring and suggested that he should instead focus on keeping himself out of trouble. The 26-year-old is facing robbery and assault charges in Cincinnati.
