Manny Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, expects that the 37-year-old former eight division world champion's preparation for his third fight against Tim Bradley will better than he's been in years.
Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) will face off Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) this coming Saturday night on April 9. The boxer could be fighting for the final time of his career in the game at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. A Senate seat in the Philippines is possible for Pacquiao in a May election, according to Los Angeles Times.
A torn rotator cuff suffered eight years ago required shoulder surgery last May on Pacquiao's right shoulder. The surgery followed Pacquiao's loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr.
This Saturday, Pacquiao will be going straight into the fight against Bradley after the surgery and without taking a tune-up to test his shoulder. Despite circumstances, Bob Arum expects Pacquiao to be in great shape.
According to Arum, Pacquiao's surgically repaired right shoulder could even be stronger than his left. Considering that Pacquiao is naturally left handed and a southpaw, this would be a real surprise to many.
According to Boxing News 24, Arum said that fans are "going to see a two-handed Pacquiao." With his torn rotator cuff repaired, Pacquiao might hit harder with right hand than his left. If this would prove to be true, then fans will witness an ubeatable Pacquiao on April 9 at the MGM Grand Arena.
Teddy Atlas, Bradley's coach, is a great psychologist, according to Arum. He will be able to bring out 100 percent of Bradley's ability in the ring. Being one of the great fighters around, Bradley will be very dangerous for Pacquiao. However, Arum is confident that Pacquiao will finally win this challenge.
For many other boxing experts, it is doubtful that Pacquiao's surgically repaired shoulder will be strong enough to make him the boxer he was before the injury. It could been better that Pacquiao would not go out into a major fight right after his surgery. It could been better if the boxer could have a tune-up fight before engaging into such an important fight for his career.
