Drake dropped two new songs online on Tuesday and one of these feature celebrity dads, Jay-Z and Kanye West. The Toronto rapper is letting fans know what they can expect when his new album, "Views from the 6," will be released this month. The two new Drake songs—"Pop Style" and "One Dance"—are ready for sampling at Apple Music.
"Pop Style" is Drake's collaboration with Jay-Z and Kanye West and it is a potential hip-hop hit, per Esquire. It's not often that fans get to hear these three rap hitmakers in one song together and listeners might get nostalgic hearing The Throne—Jay-Z and Kanye West's rap group—in the new song, per The Verge.
Jay-Z and Kanye formed The Throne in 2011 and ended up releasing an album and going on tour in North America in that same year. The team-up was widely praised and the album "Watch The Throne" earned "generally favorable reviews" on Metacritic. As Jay-Z and Kanye charted their own successful careers, The Throne entered into semi-retirement. However, thanks to Drake, fans have the chance to listen to the group again in "Pop Style."
The other new song, "One Dance," is a collaboration with Nigerian rap star Wizkid, which Rolling Stone describes as a "breezy" dance ditty. Filipino R&B artist Kyla is also part of the track.
The two new songs from Drake's "Views from the 6" album is a testament to rap artists supporting each other's success. It should be noted that Drake has worked with Kanye for his album, "The Life of Pablo," in an unreleased track, while the Toronto artist also helped Wizkid for his song "Ojuelegba."
Meanwhile, Drake announced in March that he is embarking on a tour once "Views from the 6" is released. Details like dates and venues have yet to be announced, per Rolling Stone.
