Melissa McCarthy showed Jimmy Fallon who's the boss on Lip Sync Battle on Monday night's "The Tonight Show." While Fallon has done these battles in the past with other guests, "The Boss" star proved she's on top of the game and slayed her competition.
Before their performance, McCarthy warned Fallon that she was going to crush him. At first, it appeared as though the "The Tonight Show" host wasn't fazed by the actress. Fallon opened with "Brand New Key" from novelty folk singer Melanie, and gamely rendered an appropriately silly performance.
However, McCarthy was ready for him. When it was her turn, she ditched the microphone, put on a baseball cap and busted some moves while she lip synced "X Gon Give It Ya" by DMX. Fallon and his show's band watched their guest in disbelief, CNN reports.
For the second round, Fallon picked "Pillow Talk" from Zayn Malik and squirmed on the floor with a pillow in an attempt to titillate the viewers. The host was trying to copy the original version's music video. However, McCarthy topped his performance with "Colors of the Wind" from the Disney movie "Pocahontas." She kept on lip syncing even as the wind was gushing on her face—along with water, fake leaves, confetti, glitter and stuffed animals. That was how she crushed Fallon and won, per Entertainment Weekly. The audience gave her a standing ovation.
